First presented in 1929, the Academy Awards are among the most prestigious prizes in the film industry. Competition is fierce to win the gold-plated statuette, commonly called Oscar, and Walt Disney had the incredible achievement of winning 22 of them. (He was also the recipient of four special or honorary Academy Awards.) Coming in a distant second, with 11 Oscars, is art director Cedric Gibbons (1890-1960), whose name you probably don't recognize. Gibbons is credited with designing the Oscar statuette. How many Oscars did the actors mentioned in answers A-C receive? Katharine Hepburn won four, and Meryl Streep and Daniel Day-Lewis both won three.
