That's Right!

You Chose "B" Howard Cunningham – That's Incorrect!

Marion Cunningham was one of only two Happy Days characters allowed to call Fonzie by his proper name, Arthur.

Happy Days ran from 1974-1984, and Henry Winkler's Fonzie character was key to its success. Ratings were so low at the end of the second season that it came close to being cancelled. Then Fonzie started to catch on with viewers, and the ratings took a turn for the better.

The only people Fonzie allowed to call him by his proper name, Arthur, were Marion Cunningham and his girlfriend Ashley. While we're on the topic of names, here's some fun Happy Days trivia: Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli was originally named Arthur Maschiarelli — since the original surname of creator Garry Marshall's father was Maschiarelli — and nicknamed "Mash." When ABC first picked up the series, they had Marshall change the character's name because they felt that Mash might remind people of M*A*S*H, a popular show on a rival network.

That wasn't the only name change, however. In the first episode, the restaurant and teen hangout was called Arthur's. As of the second episode, it switched to Arnold's.
